SureChoice and Elevate approved for a 7.5% average Louisiana homeowners rate decrease
Commissioner Temple approved a 7.5% average rate decrease for SureChoice Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange and Elevate Reciprocal Exchange, covering more than 73,000 homeowners policyholders and more than 17,000 dwelling policyholders, effective February 16, 2026. SURE is the second largest homeowners insurer in Louisiana at roughly 8% of the market. The companies attributed the decrease primarily to lower reinsurance costs.
